Professional Background

My name is Andrew Lee, the owner and founder of Foxy Website LLC and the sole software developer behind Foxy Effex.

I have been developing and programming software since I was a freshman in high school in 1989. From my local neighborhood library, I borrowed and read a book that taught BASIC, the mainstream programming language at that time. Since then, I have been developing software applications, both professionally and as a hobby, up to the present time. In high school, the biggest software application that I wrote was a game that mimicked the popular game Tetris. I wrote that application in the Pascal programming language, which was compiled into an executable program that ran on the IBM PC. Being a game application, it made heavy use of graphics programming involving colored pixels and the mathematics behind dealing with the screen coordinate system (x, y).

In college, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Polytechnic University (now named New York University Tandon School of Engineering) in Brooklyn NY with a Bachelors Degree in Computer & Information Science along with a perfect 4.0 GPA in all computer science courses taken.

Immediately after college, from 1996 to 2000, I started my own web design and web development business that developed websites for a total of 20 to 30 small businesses across the United States and internationally, including an e-commerce website that sold skin care products and processed credit card transactions for a skin care manufacturer named Pierre Chenxu located in Singapore.

During this time period, I also developed a business plan writing software application that ran on the Windows PC platform. It was written in Microsoft Visual C++ and was compiled into an EXE executable file. The name of the software application was “Plan A” and it was marketed by Internet Capital Bulletin Board (ICBB), a marketing partner located in Canada.

From 2001 to 2008, I worked as a software engineer at Chyron Incorporated, a company located in Long Island, NY that was famous in the television broadcasting industry for inventing and pioneering the development of hardware and software that generated on-screen animated text and graphics for live television broadcast on sports and news shows since the mid-20th century. At Chyron, I wrote the main business logic for an application named CAMIO that allowed news journalists to easily integrate our animated text and graphics assets into their news stories for live television broadcast. CAMIO was adopted by and installed at NBC headquarters in Manhattan; NDR (the biggest television news network in Germany), and dozens of television stations across the United States and internationally.

From 2011 to 2017, I worked as a software engineer at the headquarters of Bloomberg LP, a company located in midtown Manhattan that was famous in the financial industry for compiling data analytics on financial assets and also famous for its Bloomberg Television on cable television. At Bloomberg, I maintained, expanded the features of, and took full ownership of the front-end of a subscription-based cloud application that allowed corporate compliance officers at client companies in the financial industry to monitor the email content and messaging communications of their companies’ employees for legal compliance, with an emphasis on government regulations that applied specifically to the financial industry and on regulations that were passed by Congress following the 2008 financial crisis. My work heavily involved C++ on Unix, Java, Javascript, and Python.

In 2017, I left Bloomberg to start a new chapter of entrepreneurship in my career. I became involved in numerous ventures and explored industries that were both related and unrelated to software development. In one of those ventures, I developed custom websites for about 3 to 4 clients, including a website that allowed the user to design labels for wine bottles and a website that conducted a financial wealth survey among family members and analyzed the data in a unique manner prescribed by a popular book author. These websites did not use WordPress but were built entirely with PHP alone using MySQL databases.

In 2020, I took a deep dive into the software code of the WordPress, WooCommerce, and Elementor applications in the world of web development, since all code was open source.

In 2021, I developed an Elementor widget that was capable of doing particle background animations for Elementor sections and columns. I further expanded the widget’s features to do a wider assortment of animated graphical backgrounds. This eventually became the Particle Pattern Widget in Foxy Effex.

The Particle Pattern Widget was very useful to me, and I personally loved it. I thought the widget was so useful, that it could potentially be valuable to other people. So I decided to productize it. Thus was born Foxy Effex.

Foxy Effex has now evolved into a set of 24 full-blown widgets, each capable of producing excellent graphics and special effects for your web pages. The goal of Foxy Effex is to dramatically improve your web pages through powerful visual design. I hope that you will love Foxy Effex. I know that I will be using Foxy Effex in my website projects going forward.
